The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
